We’re Rising Through the Ranks of Reputation Institute’s Global Reptrak®...

What does it take to be one of the most reputable companies in the world? We think it starts by doing business with purpose and working toward positive impacts we can be proud of. And we’re proud of our efforts being recognized, too.

For the second year in a row, we’ve secured a spot on Reputation Institute’s Global RepTrak® 100. And we’re rising through the ranks for 2019—landing at #69 on this year’s list. For an organization that constantly focuses on action and integrity—we consider this quite the honor!

For more than a decade, the Reputation Institute (RI) has published the annual study of corporate reputation—the world’s largest study of its kind. More than 230,000 individual ratings are collected in the first quarter of 2019 and the global study includes: comparitive rankings, demographic trends and unique insights into the dynamics behind reputational impact.

“Reputation is critical to every aspect of our business. Guided by our Mars Purpose, we see every day as an opportunity to take action toward creating the world we want tomorrow,” said Andy Pharoah, our Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Strategic Initiatives & Sustainability. “We believe that business can make a difference. By focusing on the impact we can have, we believe reputation will follow.”

While the top 100 companies vary by size, industry, location and even ownership; they all share key trending components.

  • A Higher Purpose: Through our billion-dollar Sustainable in a Generation Plan, we’re tackling some of the most important issues of our time—like poverty, water stress, climate change and more.
  • Gender Equality: We’re promoting gender equality by unlocking opportunities for women in our workplaces, marketplaces and supply chains. Currently, 42 percent of Associates in our talent pipeline are women.
  • Workplace Culture: We’re creating a workplace Associates can be proud of. That includes paid time off to volunteer, canine colleagues in our offices and unlimited opportunities for growth.

Congratulations to everyone at Mars for playing a direct role in this honor. It takes hard work and dedication, but that’s what’s helping us keep reputation at the forefront of the work we put in today to create a better world tomorrow.
