Nici Bush

Nici is a member of the global Mars Leadership Team and in her role as Vice President Innovation, Science and Technology for Mars, she has oversight of Research and Development (R&D), including Science and Technology, Innovation, Quality and Food Safety, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, the Mars Global Food Safety Center and the Mars Advanced Research Institute. 
 
Nici’s career at Mars spans nearly three decades, multiple business areas and numerous countries. Her talent for operations and supply chain management led her to roles of increasing responsibility including nine years on the Global Chocolate Leadership Team, serving first as Vice President of Supply and then R&D. As Global Head of Supply she was responsible for the worldwide Chocolate operations across 28 factories in 15 countries. As Global head of R&D she focused on health and wellbeing for the Chocolate segment – driving a focus on small portion sizes and transparent front-of-pack labelling. She then led the Mars science-based cocoa flavanol supplement business as the General Manager for CocoaVia in Mars Edge.  
 
Most recently, as Vice President Workplace Transformation, Nici spearheaded the enterprise “Future of Work” program, embedding the lessons learned from the pandemic to create a set of flexible, hybrid working practices – from the role of offices to ways of working and behaviors – positively impacting the Associate experience and business results for years to come. She also drove an inclusion and diversity intervention within our supply chain, in partnership with the Global Supply team and Global Inclusion & Diversity team, to step change the number of diverse leaders in our global supply teams.  
 
Nici takes immense pride working in the consumer goods industry for a business that lives into the purpose of “The world we want tomorrow starts with how we do business today." She believes deeply that the world we want tomorrow is a world where everyone thrives, society is inclusive, and the planet is healthy.  
 
Nici has a master’s degree in natural sciences (chemistry) from the University of Cambridge in England, and building on her passion for coaching, supplemented her degrees with a leadership coaching accreditation from Georgetown University. She is an International Coaching Federation (ICF)-certified coach (ACC level).
